VIETNAM — Update: Priest Released for Medical Treatment

VIETNAM — Update: Priest Released for Medical Treatment
Father Nguyen Van Ly, who is serving an eight-year prison sentence, has been released and taken to a Church-run home for medical treatment, according to the Union of Catholic Asian News (UCA).
UCA reported that at the request of Father Van Ly's relatives, "prison officials allowed him to temporarily stop serving his sentence to get medical treatment at the home for retired priests for one year." The priest has already served three years of his sentence. Praise God for Father Van Ly's temporary release. Pray for his renewed health and strength. Pray that he will not have to return to prison and that the false charges against him will be dropped. Also pray for other Vietnamese Christians languishing in prison.
