Daily Devotion

But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the king's choice food or with the wine which he drank; so he sought permission from the commander of the officials that he might not defile himself. (v.8)
Focusing on God will help you stand up!
Not only do I need to wake up God's way, recognising that each new day is God's day that He has brought into my life—a day in which He wants to walk with me, and make my life spiritually fruitful, and deepen my knowledge of Him—but also I need to make up my mind to stand up for what I know is right, to stand for God no matter what, to honour and glorify Him in my life.
Even when no one else around you is pursuing God, make the commitment to pursue Him. Even when everyone else accepts moral compromize, you stand for what is right. It will not be easy, but it will be worth it. When you pray, there will not be anything shaming you in the back of your mind. When you get older you will not regret the way you have chosen to live.
Though others may not always like it, they will respect you for your stand. If you choose not to stand up for what is right, then your life will lose its significance.
Is God calling you to be bold for Him in some area of your life today?
